This is a song I wrote while with the group in Israel in December, and my very first ever performance of it at Qumran. It's about my relationship with Israel, and I kinda call it my love-hate definition of Zionism. I guess it could also be a pretty handy love song :). Look out for possible downloadability of the song soon. Thanks to Aliza for her videography. Enjoy!

Every time you laugh, I feel it in my gut
Every time you slip, I feel it in my foot
Oh, every time you sing
And every time you choke
And every time your heart beats I feel it in my throat
If I take a deep breath, so my chest will rise
If I shut my mouth, and open my eyes
I can see you across the water tonight
I can see you across the water tonight

Fill the space in my room
With an ocean of things to do
And I’m only one man now
Only one for now

This is good, and this is not
Peace is the one thing I ain’t got
And I’m tired

Oh, oh

I’m not happy this way
But then again, who am I to say?
And I’m only ten men now
Oh, for now

What I’ll know, and what I knew
Are hiding somewhere across the blue
And I’m tired

Every time you laugh, I feel it in my gut
Every time you slip, I feel it in my foot
Oh, every time you sing
And every time you choke
And every time your heart beats I feel it in my throat
If I take a deep breath, so my chest will rise
If I shut my mouth, and open my eyes
I can see you across the water tonight
I can see you across the water tonight

Whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa

Every time you laugh, I feel it in my gut
Every time you slip, I feel it in my foot
Oh, every time you sing
And every time you choke
And every time your heart beats I feel it in my throat
If I take a deep breath, so my chest will rise
If I shut my mouth, and open my eyes
I can see you across the water tonight
I can see you across the water tonight

I can see you across the water tonight

Well, I’m only one man now
Only one for now
